Draft wording for the concept. Have it reviewed before publishing.

What is collected

When you make an enquiry or book a service, I collect the details you provide: your name, contact details, the service you are asking about, ceremony details, and anything you choose to tell me in the notes field.

Where a legal marriage is involved, I am required by the Marriage Act 1961 to collect and sight identity documents, including evidence of date and place of birth and, where applicable, evidence that a previous marriage has ended.

How it is used

Your information is used to respond to your enquiry, prepare and lodge the required paperwork, conduct your ceremony or service, and meet the record-keeping obligations placed on authorised celebrants.

Counselling and divorce matters are held in confidence and are not discussed with anyone outside the parties involved.

Who it is shared with

Marriage documentation is provided to the relevant Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, as required by law. Nothing else is shared with third parties without your consent, except where disclosure is required by law.

Your details are never sold, rented or used for marketing by other organisations.

Storage and retention

Records are stored securely, in paper and electronic form, and retained for the period required by the Marriage Act and associated regulations.

You may request access to the personal information held about you, or ask for corrections, at any time.
